Does ReadAlong PDF upload my PDF?
No. The PDF and extracted page text stay in your browser. When you play a sentence, that sentence goes directly from your browser to the TTS endpoint you chose.
Which PDFs work?
V1 supports unencrypted English PDFs with a selectable text layer, up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Scanned, image-only, password-protected, damaged, and dynamic XFA PDFs are not supported.
Which TTS endpoints work?
Use an HTTPS endpoint that allows browser CORS requests and follows the OpenAI-compatible POST /v1/audio/speech contract. The connection test checks the response before reading starts; compatibility with every provider is not promised.
Do you store my API key?
No. The key stays in memory in the current tab, is not written to local storage or our server, and is cleared when the tab closes.
Can it read charts and formulas?
The original chart or formula remains visible, but V1 does not interpret images or guarantee mathematical reading order. Check the original page whenever layout matters.
Does it work on phones or tablets?
Not in V1. The supported launch browsers are the latest two stable major versions of desktop Chrome and Edge.
What does the free preview include?
You can test one supported PDF through page 10 for up to 15 minutes, including sentence tracking and manual skipping. An account is not required to start.
What do I get for $29?
One person gets the V1 reading workflow on up to three active browser profiles, plus 12 months of feature updates. Your TTS service and its usage charges are separate.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Request a full refund within 14 calendar days of purchase. There is no usage condition, and mandatory consumer rights still apply.
Is this a screen reader or accessibility certification?
No. ReadAlong PDF includes keyboard controls and spoken reading, but it is not a certified assistive technology, medical product, or screen-reader replacement.
