Voice generation, not a listening timer.

Generation and replay

Playback prefetches up to two sentences ahead. Newly generated audio uses allowance even if you stop or skip before hearing it. Speed changes do not change the charge. Recent audio cached in the same tab can replay without another charge; regeneration after reload or cache eviction uses allowance again.

Where sentences go

Built-in voice sends sentences through ReadAlongPDF.online to DeepInfra. Your PDF file stays in your browser. Advanced BYO mode is optional and its provider fees are separate.

What “one-time” means here

Your V1 reader license includes 12 months of feature updates. You retain those purchased V1 capabilities while this service operates. This is not a promise of lifetime operation or permanent browser compatibility.

Voice is a finite allowance, not unlimited listening. It does not reset monthly or expire from inactivity. If built-in voice permanently closes, unused purchased allowance is refunded proportionately: $9 for the unused fraction of each 20-hour top-up; $4.50 for the unused fraction of the 10 hours included with V1. The remaining $24.50 is allocated to the reader. See the Terms of Use.

A clear 14-day refund window

Request a full refund of V1 or a top-up within 14 calendar days of that purchase. There is no usage condition and we do not deduct consumed voice costs. Refunding V1 revokes that license and its unused included voice; refunding a top-up removes only that top-up’s unused allowance.

Pricing questions

Is this a subscription?

No. V1 and voice top-ups are one-time purchases without automatic renewal.

What counts as one hour?

One hour of newly generated audio at normal speed, measured from the actual audio. Listening at 2× speed does not halve the allowance charged. Prefetched audio counts; failed generation releases its reservation.

Can I use my own endpoint instead?

Yes. Advanced BYO mode remains available. It does not consume built-in voice allowance. Your provider controls its own account requirements and charges, including during a BYO preview.

Can I share the license?

No. The license is for one person and supports up to three active browser profiles.

What happens after 12 months?

Your feature-update period ends. Purchased V1 features and unused voice allowance remain available while the service operates. Future major features may cost extra.
