Start with a known document

Try the page shown on our homepage.

This original two-page English PDF uses fictional text and illustrative chart counts. It has a selectable text layer.

Download the sample, then open the reader in desktop Chrome or Edge and choose the file.
In the reading-order list, select “Others move between a page of notes and a discussion at the next table.” The corresponding text is highlighted on the original page.
Use Next to inspect page two. Select any starting sentence before choosing Play.
For listening, keep Built-in English voice selected. Play sends the requested text and permitted prefetch for speech generation and uses the applicable allowance.

Built-in voice

Select Built-in English voice in the reader. Listen for 5 generated minutes as a guest on any supported page, then verify your email for 30 more minutes. No API key or separate provider account is needed. Keep the original PDF tab open during sign-in; it refreshes voice access when you return. Free capacity may be temporarily full without consuming your personal minutes.

Voice allowance and top-ups

V1 includes 10 hours of generation; optional $9 top-ups add 20 hours without renewal. Speed does not change the charge. Prefetched audio counts even when unheard. Recent audio cached in the tab replays free; reloads or cache eviction can require generation again. Failed generation releases its reservation. For an interrupted download, contact us with the approximate time and account email for a correction; do not include document text.

Built-in voice stopped

Refresh your balance first. If the service is busy, wait a minute and try again. If it remains unavailable, contact ReadAlongPDF.online support. You do not need to contact DeepInfra or open an API account. We handle the built-in voice integration.

PDF support

Use an unencrypted English PDF with selectable text, no more than 50 MB or 500 pages. Scans, image-only files, damaged files, and dynamic XFA forms are outside V1.

Advanced: your own TTS endpoint

Your base URL must use HTTPS, permit this browser origin through CORS, and implement the OpenAI-compatible POST /v1/audio/speech route. Check authentication, account limits, model, voice, and returned audio format.

Reading order

Columns, footnotes, and formulas can extract out of order. Inspect the sentence list and choose another starting sentence. The original page remains the authoritative source.

Local progress

Progress belongs to this browser profile and can be removed by browser cleanup. It is not a cloud backup or cross-device sync.

Refunds

Each V1 purchase or voice top-up has a 14-calendar-day full-refund window, even after use, and no automatic renewal. Email support from your purchase email and include the order reference.

Support boundary

We handle built-in voice and account issues. We cannot correct every PDF layout or guarantee a separately selected BYO endpoint.
